Grymm Studios’ Exhibits tend to lean towards an immersive, themed experience, not only in sight and sound but with emotion and story. The theme of this exhibit is “Transformation”. As such, this exhibit will be installed to show the process from beginnings of the idea to finished piece of art, either through concept sketches, rough paintings, rough sculptures, or notes; which will be displayed along with the finished pieces. It is my goal that through the written story behind the art and showing your process, it will allow this safe space to be a vessel for being vulnerable and showing how the process you experience leads to the transformation of the final piece. Similar to the internal work and self care that we need to process to heal from our traumas. This exhibit will be the 5th in our series curated by Grymm Studios.
It is our belief that art can be used as a way to transform our mental health issues as a way to communicate. Allowing our suffering and grief to take shape in many different artistic forms such as drawing, painting, sculpture, poetry, photography, music, and performance art. Our hope is that this exhibit will help bring awareness in our community, and to help others find connections and acceptance. The multi- media exhibit will be held at the Hartford ArtSpace Gallery (555 Asylum Ave, Hartford, CT) and will feature multiple events, scheduled artist talks, vendors, and performers to raise proceeds for NAMI Connecticut. Original artwork and prints will be available for purchase during scheduled events. Artists retain 100% of all commissions from their artwork.
Though this is a free to attend event, there will be a donation box at the door and 100% of all donations collected will be donated to NAMI Connecticut from all events and attended viewings during the duration of the exhibit.

Our last 2023 exhibit, Behind the Mask: Finding Art Through Trauma 2023 was a huge success for both artists and our chosen non-profit, The Chrysalis Center. Grymm Studios curated a group exhibit featuring 23 artists of multiple talents and mediums. Together we were able to reach a total donation goal of $1000.00 for this wonderful, local non-profit! We also had generous food donations for our multiple events from several local restaurants including: Millwrights Restaurant, Black Bamboo Chinese Restaurant, Zephyr’s Street Pizza, Fire by Forge, and Goldburgers Restaurant. The impact this show had on the artists and the community made it very clear that this needed to be an annual exhibit to not only make mental health acceptance more approachable, but to put faces and voices to the stories being told.
