Kathryn Paterwic
Costume Design & Production Kathryn, A.K.A. Redfield Design has spent 10 years teaching high school students what it takes to be a professional seamstress as well as the ins and outs of technical theater. Now she spends her time building award winning cosplays and traveling around the US Competing and judging Cosplay contests. She encourages everyone she meets to be creative and think outside the box! Redfield loves breathing life into two dimensional characters, creating a living entity, tethered to this universe with details she pulls from history and her research. Her costumes span popular culture, literature, folklore, legends or a mashup of all of these. She believes that the details are key and helps the audience suspend disbelief. Anything from accessories, cuffs on a sleeve and the shape of a skirt, to prop weapons and armor, can all work together to give cohesion and maintain the illusion of a costume. Redfield and Grymm have been colleagues since 2010, in the early days of Steampunk in the Connecticut scene, and there will be much more creativity, as she she stitches her magic with Grymm Studios! |
