GOTHIC ROMANCE MASQUERADE - WADSWORTH MANSION
February 2024: Grymm Studios collaborated on the first of many immersive theatrical events at the Wadsworth Mansion! The Gothic Romance Masquerade was themed around a magical evening with Edgar Allan Poe in a contemporary comedic re-telling of "The Masque of the Red Death". The evening featured actors, Campbell Harmon as Poe, Nicole Rizzo as Eleonora Rose, and Justin Stanley as Prince Prospero! In an evening of music, dance food and drink, our guests celebrated romance and intrigue immersed in a custom playlist and special effects! Photos by Jennifer Schulten of Her Camera Obscura!
STATIC X: Collaboration with Decimated Designs
October 2023 - Grymm Studios collaborated with the team at Decimated Designs in CT to engineer 3 extraordinary stage puppets and props for "Evil Disco" band STATIC X and their Machine Killer Tour through 2024! Over 4 months of work, we engineered custom built rigs that would enable one puppeteer to carry and control two 11 foot, 90 pound puppets complete with light and fog effects. The puppets were a Frankenstein'd version of Wayne Static and the embodiment of the Disco Witch "Evil Disco". We also created a character called "The Bride" as well as a custom 2 foot Steampunk Vape and 6 Tesla coils to adorn the mic stand! The tour visited over 60 cities across the US in 2023 & 2024 and the puppets were also featured in their music videos "Push it" and the upcoming "Evil Disco - The Movie".
behind the mask: Finding art through trauma exhibit 2024
Hartford artist and curator, Joey Marsocci (owner of Grymm Studios), presents the first in an annual non-juried art exhibit to bring attention to the importance of mental health in the arts. The “Behind the Mask: Finding Art Through Trauma” Exhibit brings together a group of Connecticut artists to shine a light on the darker side of creativity by featuring artists who have experienced suffering with: depression, ADHD, PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, trauma, and many other internal afflictions.
This will be the 4th Connecticut exhibit curated by Joey Marsocci, who has autism and has been challenged by many of the setbacks listed above. Suffering and surviving through these mental health issues has also brought with them inspiration and creativity. Suffering can become the muse for artists, allowing their darker sides to take shape in many different artistic forms such as drawing, painting, sculpture, poetry, photography, music, and performance art. It is my hope that this exhibit will shine a light on different views of how to cope with the darkness, create beauty and inspiration, and to help others find connections and acceptance.
The exhibit raised $1000.00 for the Hartford Chrysalis Center, and will be held again in August 2024 again at the Hartford ArtSpace Gallery!

EMPIRE CLUB 4.20 EVENT - Collab with Decimated Designs
April 2023 Grymm Studios collaborated with Decimated Designs on a HUGE undertaking! A 30 foot tall King Kong for the Empire Club in NYC! Their 4.20 Event featuring Red Man and Method Man needed one hell of an impressive backdrop! All furring and some foam work on the beast was done by Grymm Studios while the design and man fabrication was done by Kyle and the team at Decimated! It definitely made an impact!

Grymm Studios was honored to create a new custom character to perform during the holiday season at the new SoNo Collection shopping center in Norwalk CT!
Mr. Twist is an homage to the stories of Dr. Seuss, and was whimsically brought to life by designer and performer Joey Marsocci. The character wears an intricately designed 3 dimesional illustrated backpack and arm controller that lights up, projects sound effects and peppermint scented steam!
Mr. Twist is the inventor of the "Twist-O-Matic", a candy cane making machine, and he is delighting both children and adults as he passes out the sweet treats with a beaming smile and fast talking banter through the next few weekends only at the SoNo Collection!

HELLBOY 2: ANGEL OF DEATH STATUE - CHANGO ROSA TACOS
Spring 2018 Grymm Studios was commissioned to build a faithful recreation of one of Guillrmo Del Toro's most notable characters from the film "Hellboy 2", Angel of Death. This statue stands guard in the Chango Rosa tequila room of one of Hartford, CT's newest eateries from the mind of owner Jamie Macdonald. The 8 foot tall statue holds a limited edition bottle of GTD Patron Tequila while its winged 12 eyes watch on, intensely.

THE HARVESTER: A Steampunk Scarecrow is a custom designed and fabricated creature suit developed by Grymm Studios. It includes lights and interactive sound. All sound in the video is coming from the creature and it is performed by Joey Marsocci. We are now taking orders for one of a kind custom creature suits for the 2018 season! Inquire within!
