GRACY MANOR
The haunted mansion renovation project
In a collaboration with long time friend and artistic colleague, Steve Ziolkowski, this 10+ year project was a pitch to Walt Disney Imagineering for a renovation of the Haunted Mansion in Disney World. This ambitious project was a complete re-envisioning for the attraction, with a nod to it's original story and history.
Together Joey & Steve embarked on a storytelling adventure that began it's concept at California Institute of the arts, and eventually found it's way to Imagineering. Complete with concept renders, character designs, scale models, a full CG imagined ride through, and a soundtrack with all rooms fully realized in sound design my Mark Adams.
Below is just a peek at some of the original concept renders created by Steve and Joey.

The story was brought to life to tell the tragic story of Captain James T. Gracy and his never-to-be bride Fiona Tillinghast. Set against the backdrop of Resurrection Park Cemetery on the outskirts of New Orleans. Their heartbreaking tale, was written as an homage to the original Disney Land Haunted Mansion, with the addition of being immersed in an actual paranormal haunting in a dilapidated long forgotten mansion.
